Introduction[]

Welcome to the Bay Area, specifically the City of the Golden Gate, the melting pot of the west coast and the home of some of the most liberal minds in the western hemisphere. It is here in this city of roughly 400,000 people that several werewolf packs make their home, as well as a smattering of wizards, the occasional vampire, and other things that go “bump in the night.”

San Francisco has a varied and colorful history, starting with its birth in America’s gold rush and continuing through the earthquake and great fire that destroyed the city. Modern San Francisco is the beacon of northern California, if not the entire west coast itself. All the cultures present are celebrated for their individuality and uniqueness while at the same time encouraged to blend together.

Over the past six years, San Francisco has also become the unofficial hub of California’s rising secession movement, California Free Union (CFU). Many feel that California should separate from the United States of America and become its own independent sovereign state. Although not taken seriously at first, its popularity has risen in recent years and the Bay Area is beginning to change…

San Francisco is essentially a city of greed. Long known as a tourist trap, almost every business caters to the passerby. Everything from the city’s famous trolleys to the Golden Gate Bridge itself practically shouts of the city’s greed and desire to wrest as much money and power from its people as possible. And there are those in the city who foster and champion this cause in the shadows of the towering skyscrapers that dot the San Francisco hillside and the cracks in the earth beneath it. These powers are mortal as well as supernatural and are wholly aware of something the city itself seems to forget, something that drives them to grab for wealth and dominance in a frenzy while they can: San Francisco is directly in the path of one of the most severe fault lines in the world, and San Andreas can strike whenever she feels the itch.
